My name is Siddhartha Chatterjee, a resident of Kolkata, West Bengal, India. I am a Virgo. I love food, music & stock markets. I indulge in adda sessions anytime & every time.
This site has been created with an eye to sharing my ideas, thoughts, beliefs and finally networking with persons who know me personally with whom I failed to keep in touch all these years. I will be expecting suggestions and feedback from all the viewers.
Did my schooling from Patha Bhavan, Kolkata and was the last passing out batch of the Higher Secondary studies in the year 1976.
Though I was a science student, inspiration from my father led me to take up commerce at St. Xavier’s College Kolkata. I passed out in 1979 and eventually did my CA & CS like my father.
I was a keen footballer, not that I played it with ease but was a supporter of the East Bengal team in my early school days. My cricketing pursuits were confined to para cricket and till today I miss playing on the streets of Bhowanipur where I grew up. I see this missing amongst the new generation kids though a Pepsi or Coke these days’ sponsors such events with grandeur thereby attracting local talent. But what is missing is, an abandoned playground for want of a cricket or football during match for which sponsors were not immediately available to buy us a ball. That was the learning process, I guess, which has paid handsome dividend while growing up in life.
Organising para Puja was another extremely important experience I went through and enhanced my organising capabilities from the age of 10. I formed a small club Christened Moumachi Sangha which ventured into organising a Saraswati Puja (Worship of Goddess of Learning) every year with an extremely limited budget and in most cases deficit budget. However last minute charity from relatives always pulled it through. But doing all these small acts definitely enhanced my abilities to organize a thing which today is paying rich bonuses. Kite flying was also one of my favourite sports which today, with the influx of high rises is missing from the Kolkata skyline.
At a tender age of 13, I was chosen by none other than Satyajit Ray to act as ‘Topse’ in his first Feluda film Sonar Kella about which I have dedicated a separate section in this site. Ray transformed my life completely but the transformation was done unknowingly which I realized when I grew up & faced the challenges of life. You have to be lucky in life to come in contact with personalities like Ray and I was one of the fortunate ones. I will thank my stars always for that.
Writing about myself would appear to be essay and hence I suggest surf through the site and know about me. I have endeavored to let you all know what various experiences lead me to where I am today. I know your blessings will be on my side for journey ahead.
